Run a flow (several steps)
A flow is a button that runs several steps one after another, like "Drive mode": turn on Focus, open your music, then show a note.
- Select a button in Edit mode (or tap + on an empty slot).
- Set When tapped to Run a flow (several steps). A Flow steps list appears.
- Tap + Add step. Choose what the step does: Open a website, Open an app, Call, Text, Email, Roku remote, Run an iPhone Shortcut, Copy text, Show a note, or Wait (seconds).
- Fill in the step's box: the website, app link, number, Shortcut name, text, or number of seconds.
- Add up to 8 steps. They run top to bottom: ↑ moves a step up and × removes it.
- Give the button a label (like Drive) and an icon, then tap Use.
- Tap the button. A window shows the steps: steps that stay in Penzap (notes, copying, waiting, Roku) run on their own, and steps that open something else show a button to tap, then you come back for the next step.
Good to know
- Short on ideas? ✨ Build with AI writes the steps from a description, like "morning routine: weather, news, then my playlist".
- A phone only lets one tap leave the app, so each step that opens a website, app, call or Shortcut needs its own tap. To do many things in one go on iPhone, make an iPhone Shortcut that does them all and add one Run an iPhone Shortcut step with its exact name.
- Skip in the flow window jumps past a step.
