Floating remote (Android)
In the Penzap app on Android, your remote can float over the home screen and other apps, and shrink to a bubble like a video's mini player. (iPhone doesn't allow apps to float over others; use the home-screen widget there.) In Use mode, the app also shows your phone's wallpaper around the remote.
- Open Menu → Float over other apps.
- The first time, Android asks for permission: tap Open settings, find Penzap, turn on Allow display over other apps, and come back.
- Your remote now floats over the home screen. Drag its top bar to move it; taps outside it go to your home screen and apps.
- Tap — to shrink it to a round bubble. Tap the bubble to open it again, or drag the bubble to move it.
- To close it, drag the bubble onto the ✕ at the bottom of the screen, tap ✕ on the remote's bar, or tap Close in its notification.
- Want it every time? Turn on Menu → Mini remote when I leave. Whenever you leave Penzap (for example a button opens another app), the bubble appears.
Good to know
- A button that opens another app shrinks the remote to its bubble, so the app is in view.
- ⤢ on the remote's bar opens the full Penzap app. Editing is done there; the floating remote is for using your buttons.
- While it floats, Android shows a "Penzap remote is floating" notification.
